한차연 Han Cha Yeon I
I find this time after Christmas and before New Year to be like a no man's land, a welcome pause and so Korean artist 한차연 Han Cha Yeon's doodle sketches really appealed to me as they have a sense of time, space and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures.

Nicholas Stevenson
Frost Fair by Nicolas Stevenson
" The River Thames froze over 24 times from 1408 to 1814, sometimes lasting long enough to hold a fair on the ice. The frozen river played host to rides, beer tents, ice skaters and once even an Elephant! William Shakespeare is said to have moved his Globe theatre across the ice to avoid paying tolls on the bridges, and King Charles I dropped by to enjoy some roast beef."

The Tree
Christmas hasn't quite arrived at home yet it is still a little soggy and droopy as I battle with a paper mache silver birch tree. The tree is always a battle at home as I don't like celebrating anything by killing a tree. Hopefully, when the branches stop drooping, it will start to be more Christmasy.

A robin bauble is my last holiday post for this week. It looks very female for what is the male bird, but I do like her.
